Community survey
How we handle your survey information
Save Tarpon Schools is an independent community site, not affiliated with Pinellas County Schools. This page explains what the survey collects and what we do with it.
What gets collected
- Your survey answers, including your ZIP code and optional comments.
- Your name and email address.
- The approximate location Cloudflare estimates from your internet connection: city, region, country, and the distance from Tarpon Springs. We do not store your IP address or exact coordinates.
- A one-way scrambled code (a keyed hash) made from your email. We use these to spot duplicate or automated responses without keeping the originals.
Why
We ask for your name and email to help ensure answers come from real people.
How it is protected
- Responses are encrypted at rest. Names and emails are encrypted before they are saved.
- We never sell your information, and we do not share names or emails with Pinellas County Schools or anyone else. Results are published only as totals.
- Spam protection uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser to tell people from bots. See Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy notice ↗.
Email updates
If you check “Send me occasional Save Tarpon Schools updates,” we may email you about this issue. That choice is separate from the survey. Leaving it unchecked means you may only ever be contacted by an automation to verify a real email address.
How long we keep it
We delete names and email addresses after the survey closes.
